SAMO Fund Employee Takes on New Job

Diane joined SAMO Fund as a SAMO Youth Intern and was then hired to continue working with SAMO Fund as an Education Intern with the Open Outdoors for Kis program for 4th graders to learn about National Parks. She graduated from California State University-Northridge with a Bachelor's Degree in History with a Minor in Sustainability. She recently resigned from her position at SAMO Fund to join Environment of the Americas as a Fish and Feather Intern at the Lewis and Clark Historic Site. We are absolutely thrilled when one of our interns secures employment in environmental and conservation programs. 

While working as an Education Intern with SAMO, Diane expanded her interpretation skills through educational programs and one-on-one interactions. This, and her naturally friendly approach, helped her to excel in working with so many people from many cultural experiences. “I enjoyed being able to meet and work with individuals of different background but similar goals,” said Diane. One of Diane’s proudest acheivements is bringing historically educationally-disadvantaged communities to nature and the open spaces that surround them in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
