SAMO FUND EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH!
Congratulations TARA HALLMAN For being Employee of the month!
Meet Tara Hallman! She currently leads crews to maintain the trails you use, one of the vital roles here at SAMO.
Tara and her team work constantly to keep the trails clear of vegetation, using power tools like chainsaws and weed whips. A huge part of her job, especially in preparation for storms like the ones we are having this rainy January, is to prevent erosion by creating drains to direct any water off the trails quickly.
She loves her work and being out on the mountains. Tara started working with SAMO as a student intern with the NPS Trails Division in 2016. Through this work she got to discover all the amazing trails in the park and help build the last section of the Backbone Trail, gaining valuable experience of trail construction from start to finish. After graduation, she became a SAMO employee and will be working within the NPS leading a five person, seasonal, trail crew team for six months.
Congratulations Tara on being SAMO Fund’s first employee of the month!
“After being out on the trail all day, you are very tired but also extremely satisfied when you view your hard work! I am with Samo Fund because I am addicted to our park. I love learning the names of our native plants and seeing when they bloom at different times. I become so excited to see our birds, the Great Blue Heron is my favorite.”
